LEGO IJN I-400 CLASS AIRCRAFT CARRIER SUBMARINE MOC
What if a submarine also had planes?

The LEGO IJN I-400 Class Aircraft Carrier Submarine MOC recreates one of the most unique naval vessels of World War II.
The I-400 class was a Japanese innovation and was the largest submarine of its time, specifically designed to carry aircraft for surprise attacks. Capable of holding three Seiran floatplanes in a watertight hangar, this submarine was envisioned to strike distant targets, even planning to reach the United States’ west coast in secret missions.
MODEL #0128 | 1:500 | 143 pcs.
I’ve never had to design both an aircraft carrier and a submarine at the same time. Let alone, add a small plane on the top deck of the submarine. But in this case, the Imperial Japanese Navy went full steam ahead on making one of the weirdest concepts of naval engineering by the end of WW2.
