LEGO ARCHIMEDE CLASS SUBMARINE MOC

51 PCS. | MOC #0261

SubMayRine Month is back this year and as the first LEGO model of this month long event, I bring you a 51-piece design of a LEGO Archimede Class Submarine MOC.

This LEGO Archimede Class Submarine was designed at a 1:500 scale (+/- 5mm) and features all the details of the Archimede Class Submarine including surface guns and individual propellers. I love reusing the minifigure hands to add more detail to my micro-scaled LEGO models.

Another technique worth the spotlight would be the 2 1×1 round flower parts attached to 2L bars attached on a downward bracket. This technique was based on the propulsion system that I built on the LEGO Gato-Class Submarine MOC for the first edition of SubMayRine Month.

HISTORY

The Archimede class comprised four submarines constructed for the Regia Marina (Royal Italian Navy) in the early 1930s. These submarines played roles in the Spanish Civil War under the Nationalist flag and also participated in World War II.

Two of the submarines, while serving in Spain, were referred to as the General Mola class.

They were decommissioned in 1959.
