The fourth life of the SS America Ocean Liner.
The LEGO SS Italis Ocean Liner MOC pays homage to the fascinating post-war legacy of this iconic ship. Originally launched as the SS America, the vessel was later repurposed as the SS Italis under Italian ownership.
Its sleek silhouette and historic role in Mediterranean cruises during the 1960s and 70s make it a favorite among ocean liner enthusiasts.

And this is the last of the SS America. After a few years of serving as the SS Italis and a multitude of problems and redesign (like the removal of one of the funnels), the ship was wrecked in the Canary Islands and slowly eroded away beneath the ocean. By 2024, the ship completely dissipated and is now an artificial reef for local wildlife.
